Meet Peter Petersen

Peter Petersen’s three main passions in life are movement, music, and meditation. He is a certified Sheng Zhen Qigong teacher (www.shengzhen.org) and has been teaching Qigong for almost 20 years.

Peter has had the wonderful opportunity to learn from, and continue the lineage of one of the most respected and well-known Qigong teachers in the world, Master Li Jun Feng. Peter attended and completed four his Teacher Training courses in 2003 (Hawaii), 2004 (Nova Scotia), 2006 (Vancouver), and 2010 (Joshua Tree).

For fifteen years, Master Li was the coach for the Chinese National Wushu (kung-fu) team. Using some of the techniques Peter describes here, Master Li helped his team to win a record number of gold medals for his country. Master Li was also a famous Martial Arts movie actor and director in China, choosing to give up fame and fortune just so he could travel the world to teach Qigong meditation.

Peter has taught in health clubs, hospitals, retirement villas, tantra festivals, food-as-medicine conferences, and several different wellness resorts in Mexico and the United States such as Rancho La Puerta, Playa Viva, Mayacamas Ranch, and Present Moment Retreat.

Peter has traveled the world, teaching Tantra and his own style of Qigong. Together with his teaching partner, Monique Darling, they created Everyday Tantra.

The focus of what Peter and Monique do is to facilitate people in seeing what is intensely alive in their hearts and minds, and then helping them to export that inner passion to their outer world, so that those people can create their dream life. This is the reason that Peter loves his job and will embody his passion until drawing his final breath.

Peter has a Bachelor degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Alaska Southeast, with an emphasis in both Psychology and Journalism.

Peter is also a certified massage therapist (since 2005) and personal wellness coach (since 2012). The Qigong practice that Peter teaches helps people ground themselves into their “Now” to increase their present moment awareness of their behaviors and to find simple solutions to problematic habits with eating, moving, negative thinking, and sleep troubles. The result of this toolbox of healthy information is that clients become their own health advocate and regain a sense of stability, peace, and well-being into their everyday lives.
