Are you an empath? An energetic or highly sensitive person?

Empath: A person who is capable of feeling the emotions or physical symptoms of others even if they themselves are not going through the same situation or events.

Highly Sensitive: Used to describe a person who has high sensory awareness and often feels extremely emotional or in-tune with their surroundings.

What is the difference between having empathy and being an empath? “Having empathy means our heart goes out to another person in joy or pain,” says Dr. Judith Orloff. “But, for empaths, it goes much farther. We actually feel others’ emotions, energy, and physical symptoms in our own bodies, without the usual defenses that most people have.”

This is all about exploring Tantra from a highly sensitive, energy sensitive, or empathic perspective. This event is for anyone who’s been told “you are too much” or been shamed for crying or being overly emotional. If you’ve ever been told to “grow a thick skin,” here is an evening for you!

A place to feel like you could never be too much… a place to openly explore your gifts while building resilience so that you can feel welcomed and valued by a world that desperately needs what you alone have to offer.

Tantra is the path of yes, but what happens when you are constantly struggling to figure out what feelings are yours, where your “yes” is, when you have spent most of your life feeling and understanding everyone else’s?

Tantra is also the path of falling in love with yourself. Monique, and Peter have spent countless hours learning how to intimately love the parts of ourselves that the world wanted us to change. And tonight we will bring our experience, our passion, and our toolboxes, to take you on a journey to find out what a “yes” feels like in your body, and to fall in love with every unique ounce of your amazing self.

Let’s release the stored emotions that we have carried for other people—parents, children, friends, lovers, society—so that we can feel more comfortable living fully in our own bodies.

The answer is not feeling less, it’s making more space for ALL that you feel.

Monique Darling

Author of Beyond Cuddle Party and workshop facilitator extraordinaire Monique Darling has led over 2000 workshops in the past decade. She is the founder of Everyday Tantra, an organization dedicated to empowering people who are questioning the assumptions of how their life should be and to offering tools for self expression that create trust, inner knowing and wisdom to enjoy the life they have.

Monique has taught at colleges across the US including Yale. She has been featured on TLC and The Doctors as well as various radio shows, podcasts and magazines across the globe.

She specializes in helping others reclaim their power and natural sensuality by transmuting fear and repression into courage, self-love and freedom. Her primary purpose is helping folks bring out their vulnerability, energetic embodiment and fearless relating.

Peter Petersen

Peter Petersen has been a certified Sheng Zhen Qigong teacher for nearly 20 years. Peter is also a personal wellness coach. He has been teaching Qigong and wellness in health clubs, hospitals, retirement villas, and several different spas & resorts in Mexico and the United States, including Rancho La Puerta, Mayacamas Ranch, and Present Moment Retreat.

His Qigong practice helps people to ground themselves into their “Now“, to increase their present moment awareness of their behaviors, and to find solutions to personal difficulties or problematic habits such as: eating, moving, negative thinking, and sleeping. The result of this toolbox of healthy information is that clients become their own health advocates, incorporating a sense of stability, peace, and well-being into their everyday lives.
